Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They ensure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve.
They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish their findings, including performance ratings to help people choose their care.
Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. It's an underrated form of exercise, but walking is ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active. Regular walking has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as:
type 2 diabetes
even some cancers!
How to join
Join our walking group is easy, just turn up at the practice at 10.30am on a Wednesday; we meet every Wednesday (rain or shine!) and walk for approximately an hour. All ages are welcome, joining a walking group helps keep you motivated, meet new people and stay active!
